The Guns N’ Roses Australia and New Zealand Tour

It started as a single Adelaide show tied to the bp Grand Final event in November. Then Live Nation announced the full run: Townsville, Brisbane, Newcastle, Melbourne, Sydney, and then Auckland.

Seven shows across two countries, squeezed into three weeks in December.

Melbourne gets Friday, 11 December. That timing works well. Most people are not working the next day, and Friday night crowds at Marvel Stadium tend to be loud from the moment the gates open.

Who is supporting Guns N’ Roses?

Airbourne are on the bill, and this is not a throwaway support slot.

They are from Warrnambool originally, so there is a local angle here. More importantly, they are one of the better live rock acts in the country.

Fast, physical, no filler. I have seen them in small venues where the energy was genuinely hard to contain. In a stadium setting, that is only going to scale up.

Get there before they start. You will not regret it.

The Band

The current Guns N’ Roses lineup is Axl Rose on vocals and keyboards, Slash on lead guitar, Duff McKagan on bass, Dizzy Reed on keyboards, Richard Fortus on rhythm guitar, Melissa Reese on keyboards, and Isaac Carpenter on drums.

Carpenter replaced Frank Ferrer last year after Ferrer had held the role for nearly two decades. The core three of Axl, Slash and Duff are still intact.

Guns N’ Roses Melbourne Setlist

No confirmed setlist yet. Based on recent shows, expect around three hours. The classic material from Appetite for Destruction and the Use Your Illusion albums makes up most of the set. The foundation tracks are not going anywhere:

  • Welcome to the Jungle
  • Mr. Brownstone
  • Sweet Child O’ Mine
  • November Rain
  • Paradise City

They released two new singles late last year, “Atlas” and “Nothin'”. Both are likely to appear. Slash has said these are probably the last of the reworked Chinese Democracy-era material, with genuinely new band-written music still to come.

Whether any of that is ready by December is unknown.

They also tend to work in cover at night. AC/DC, Black Sabbath, and Thin Lizzy have all come up in recent tours. The set moves around a little depending on the city, which makes it worth paying attention even if you have seen it before.

Guns N’ Roses Melbourne Tickets and pricing

Tickets for the Guns N’ Roses Melbourne show are priced from $101.75 up to $1,070.28, with a per-order handling fee of $6.35. General sale is open now through Ticketmaster.

One thing worth knowing before you buy: all tickets are digital and can only be accessed through the Ticketmaster app. There are no printed tickets. Make sure you have the app set up on your phone before the night.

VIP packages

There are three options if you want more than a standard ticket.

The Mastercard Priceless “It’s So Easy” package includes a General Admission standing ticket in the Front GA Pit with VIP riser access. You can move between the riser and the pit throughout the night, with VIP bar access on the riser.

It also includes a behind-the-scenes look at the production setup and an on-stage group photo opportunity.

The Live Era VIP Lounge package includes a 90-minute pre-show lounge experience with a welcome cocktail, complimentary beer, wine and soft drinks, light canapés, a signature guitar and bass jam area, throwback arcade games, karaoke, a DJ set of GN’R songs, a photo opportunity, limited edition VIP merchandise, an official laminate, and a VIP commemorative concert ticket.

There is also a VIP Early Entry package, which includes a General Admission Front GA Pit ticket. The details on this one are simpler, but it gets you into the pit early, which matters if you want a good position close to the stage.

Note that VIP package holders do not have a separate standing section on the floor. Once the doors open, all GA Pit ticket holders are in the same area.

Accessible tickets

Accessible bookings can be made through the Ticketmaster Help Centre or by calling 1300 446 925, Monday to Sunday between 9:00 am and 5:00 pm AEDT.

Getting to The Marvel Stadium

Marvel Stadium is located right next to Southern Cross Station. Most people just take a train and walk straight across. It is one of the easier major venues in Melbourne to reach without a car.

Trams run through Docklands as well, but they get crowded after the show finishes. If you are coming from the suburbs, the train is the simpler option.

Gates open at 5:00 pm. Arriving early is worth it. You get through the lines faster, you find your spot before the venue fills up, and you catch Airbourne from the start instead of pushing through a packed crowd halfway through their set.

This is about to sell out. Presales ran for a full week before general tickets went live, so a significant portion of capacity is already gone. Tickets are available now through Ticketmaster, but waiting won’t help you.

One night. One venue. If it is on the list, sort it out now.

If you are planning for Guns N’ Roses, it helps to see what else is on around the same time.

Melbourne has a packed lineup in 2026, and dates can overlap more than you expect.
